“Foraging” certainly implies a degree of searching, and some wild plants can take a good bit of finding. But it is much more efficient and rewarding to learn to recognise resources that are hidden in plain sight close to home.
The young flower and leaf buds of rowan trees, and some other closely related species, offer delicious almond flavours to foragers in the spring.
The blossoms and young leaves of flowering currant come right near the top of my early spring not-to-be-missed delicious list.
